Bratislava, April 13 (TASR) - Opposition Progressive Slovakia (PS) party has called on Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) to condemn Sunday’s Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Sumy, criticising the government for remaining silent instead of taking clear steps to support Ukraine and adopt a firm stance against Russian President Vladimir Putin’s regime, TASR learnt from the party’s media department on Sunday. "The missile attack on Palm Sunday killed over 30 innocent people and injured dozens more. While the entire civilised world is responding to this horrific tragedy, our government is once again burying its head in the sand," said PS leader Michal Simecka. He added that this is exactly how an aggressor behaves, rejecting peace and continuing to kill. "And Robert Fico’s government shamefully remains silent, or offers empty speeches about how much it values peace," he concluded. At least 32 people were killed and at least 84 others injured in Sunday’s Russian missile strike on the city of Sumy, where two ballistic missiles hit the city centre as large crowds of civilians were gathering in the streets to celebrate Palm Sunday. lin
