Bratislava, April 14 (TASR) - Artificial intelligence (AI) should be used more in Slovakia at the government level, i.e. in state governance, said President Peter Pellegrini at the Vizio Energo conference held in Bratislava on Monday. The president took part in a debate dedicated to Slovakia's energy self-sufficiency, the importance of nuclear energy, artificial intelligence, its energy demands, and Slovakia's steps on the path to a green country. "I think that AI should be used more in state governance to increase the efficiency of using the state budget or, for example, in monitoring the legislative process. We at the Presidential Palace have also decided that we want to be a leader, and we also want to use AI in the area of managing our energy consumption. We want to introduce and are already going to launch a pilot project of checking the legislative process using AI tools next week," said the president. Pellegrini noted that he intends to organise a roundtable debate on artificial intelligence at the Presidential Palace soon. "I want to invite representatives of certain sectors where I see that introducing artificial intelligence could go very quickly, such as health care or education. I'd also like to invite the biggest players on the AI market, when we wouldn't deal with current problems in health care or education but would say what we can do for Slovakia to make headway in this field," he stated. The president believes that Slovakia has a huge opportunity in applying AI, even if it won't be a world leader in research and development. ko/df
