Liberation80: Historical Battle Reenactment Took Place Near Vinosady on Saturday

Bratislava/Vinohrady, April 15 (TASR) - A historical re-enactment of the 1945 liberation of Pezinok and Vinosady (both in Bratislava region), took place on Saturday, April 12, featuring staged battles, a field hospital and period military equipment, the Pezinok local government has reported. Nearly 80 members from military history clubs took part in the event, presenting an hour-long battle scene in which the advancing Red Army attacked entrenched German forces in the region. The re-enactment also included a field hospital with doctors, nurses and wounded soldiers demonstrating the conditions and medical procedures used at the time to treat injuries and perform surgery. Artistic and folklore ensemble Obstrleze performed a portrayal of everyday life before the liberation and during the Second World War. There was also a photo exhibition and educational panels. lin/df
