Bratislava, April 16 (TASR) - At a press conference on Wednesday, Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Minister Erik Tomas (Voice-SD) responded to the announced redundancies at a company called Ecco in the town of Martin (Zilina region), accusing the opposition of spreading false information about why the company is having to close down. The minister stated that this isn't because of the introduction of the transaction tax or the government's bad political orientation, but because the company doesn't have enough orders. "Ecco in Martin is closing because there have been significant changes in global markets for the segment they are in, and so six factories that they have in Europe, but also in Asia, simply don't have enough orders, and some factories are having to close. So, the problem is not a specifically Slovak, but again an international situation," said Tomas. am/df
