President Will Decide on Amendment on NGOs after Familiarising Himself with It

Bratislava, April 16 (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini will become thoroughly acquainted with the amendment to the Act on Non-Profit Organisations after he is delivered it, the President Office's communications department told TASR on Wednesday, adding that he will then take his constitutional decision. Parliament approved on Wednesday the amendment to the law on NGOs sponsored by the Slovak National Party (SNS). It introduces several changes. For example, NGOs will be obliged to draw up a transparency report and to make information on the management of public funds available. The opposition criticised the amendment, speaking of bullying active citizens. They called on the head of state to veto the amendment. am
