Bratislava, April 17 (TASR) - Slovakia's economy grew slightly faster in 2024 than the first data published in early March 2025 indicated, with GDP in fixed prices going up 2.1 percent, compared to the original 2 percent, according to the GDP spring revision released by the Statistics Office on Thursday. The revised volume of GDP in fixed prices exceeded €104.4 billion last year, which was €804 million above the originally published figure. Similarly, the revision significantly changed the GDP growth figure for 2023, from the original 1.4 percent to the current 2.2 percent. The impact of the revision on economic development in 2021 and 2022 was negligible. The adjustments are related to the incorporation of outputs from the final end-year value of indicators entering GDP for 2023, which refined the data obtained from quarterly surveys. The cumulative impact of the revision between 2021 and 2024 was a change between 0-0.8 percentage points (p.p.). The revision was also reflected in the GDP figures for individual quarters. The original figures of year-on-year (y-o-y) growth or decline in real GDP (in fixed prices) were adjusted from 0.1 p.p. to 0.9 p.p. The adjustments in individual quarters of 2024 resulted from more significant changes to the 2023 base. GDP figures in the second and third quarter of 2024 increased and in the final quarter decreased when compared to the originally published data. Slovakia's GDP in the second quarter grew by 2.1 percent (original 2 percent), in the third quarter by 1.4 percent (original 1.2 percent) and in the final quarter by 1.7 percent (original 1.8 percent). ko
