New York, April 17 (TASR) - During his working trip to the USA, Education Minister Tomas Drucker (Voice-SD) confirmed Slovakia's ambition to become a leader in the responsible and meaningful use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, and at the same time he invited global leaders to attend an AI Summit in Bratislava in November, TASR has been told by the ministry's communications department. After a series of meetings in Brussels, Drucker attended several meetings in New York. He met representatives of Costa Rica and Singapore, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations and international companies. They agreed that AI is changing the game and that smaller countries can be more flexible, faster and bolder in embracing it in education. "Now is the moment to move forward and set clear rules for using AI in education. Our priority is to use AI for the benefit of teachers, students and schools. These meetings also clearly showed that this isn't just a vision, but a real possibility," said Drucker. UN Under-Secretary-General Amandeep Gill, who serves as Special Envoy for Digital Technologies, praised Slovakia's proactive approach and its ambition to become an international hub for linking AI and education. He and Drucker discussed the key topics of the upcoming November summit in Bratislava. am/df
