Igor Slanina Wants to Run for Post of STVR General Director

Bratislava, April 17 (TASR) - Igor Slanina wants to run for the post of general director of public-service broadcaster STVR, Andrea Pivarciova, in charge of STVR's marketing and communications department, told TASR on Thursday, adding that he has been acting as its interim director since it was set up ten months ago. Pivarciova further stated that during his ten months in the role, Slanina's priority has been to stabilise the situation at Slovak Television and Radio and, within the limits of a temporary assignment, to ensure that all requirements are in place related to the transition from the defunct RTVS to the new public institution STVR. She added that, having launched a number of processes, he's now determined to continue this work. "This decision hasn't been easy at all, but in the current situation I feel a certain level of responsibility and determination to continue carrying out my vision. My team and I have had an intense ten months during which we've had to grapple with the challenging process of transforming public-service television and radio. All the steps that we've managed to take during this time fill me with motivation to continue working for STVR. I'm confident that we'll be able to keep building the STVR brand intensively and to continue the processes we've started. I'm taking running for the post of general director with full seriousness and humility, and also as a commitment to STVR's employees and collaborators, as well as to its viewers and listeners," said Slanina. am/df
