Zilina/Bratislava, April 18 (TASR) - Poland has restricted access for vehicles transporting cloven-hoofed animals and items that could transmit foot-and-mouth disease to just three border crossings, Zilina regional police reported on social media on Friday. "Due to the epidemiological situation in Slovakia and Hungary, and with the aim of effectively implementing measures to prevent an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease on Polish soil, a change in traffic organisation has been introduced at designated border crossings in the Silesia region. This change involves introducing a ban on the entry of vehicles transporting cloven-hoofed animals, as well as products and items that could transmit foot-and-mouth disease," the police stated. The vehicles in question can cross into Poland only through three designated border crossings: DK S52 – Cieszyn, Highway A1 – Gorzyczki, and DK S1 – Zwardon – Laliky/Skalite. mf/df
