Bratislava, April 22 (TASR) - Austrian Minister for European and International Affairs Beate Meinl-Reisinger is due to visit Slovakia, the Foreign Ministry's communications department told TASR on Tuesday, adding that as part of her official visit she'll engage in a working programme with head of Slovak diplomacy Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) on Wednesday (April 23).
"The agenda of the bilateral meeting of the heads of diplomacy will be Slovak-Austrian relations and European and current foreign policy issues. The two partners will also discuss regional cooperation, the enlargement of the European Union, the Schengen area, transatlantic relations and illegal migration," said the ministry.
The two ministers will also lay a wreath at the memorial of the Gate of Freedom at the Bratislava borough of Devin to honour the people who were killed on the border between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Austria while attempting to escape from behind the Iron Curtain between 1945-1989.
