Liberation80: Town of Myjava Prepares Exhibition Dedicated to Air Battles

Myjava, April 22 (TASR) - The town of Myjava in Trencin region is preparing an exhibition dedicated to the air battles over its neighbouring hills that took place in 1944, town spokesman Marek Hrin told TASR on Tuesday. The town hall is currently looking for a suitable date for its opening. The author is activist Ondrej Jansto, who for years has been trying to map the falls of planes in the area during the liberation fight in World War II as well as the related stories. The exhibition will present information about, for example, which army took part in the overflights, what its tasks were, what overflights it completed and so on. Further information will be dedicated to the airmen themselves. "This included the German and Hungarian side, which also flew against the Americans, and, of course, the Slovaks, who, although in small numbers, were there," Jansto told TASR. am
