Bratislava, April 24 (TASR) - The Bratislava City Council honoured the memory of late Pope Francis by holding a minute of silence on Thursday. It did so at the proposal of Bratislava mayor Matus Vallo.
"Pope Francis spent almost four days in Bratislava. I think that he touched many believers and non-believers with that visit. It was an important visit for our city," stated Vallo.
Pope Francis died on Monday (April 21) morning at the age of 88. He had been the head of the Catholic Church since March 2013. The funeral of the Holy Father will take place on St. Peter's Square at the Vatican at 10 a.m. on Saturday (April 26). Slovakia will hold the state mourning from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on that day.
