KBS: Several Slovak Bishops to Attend Pope's Funeral in Vatican

Vatican City/Bratislava, April 24 (TASR) - Several Slovak bishops, led by Kosice Archbishop and Slovak Bishops Conference (KBS) head Bernard Bober, will attend Pope Francis's funeral on Saturday (April 26), the KBS press department has informed TASR, adding that the bishops will form part of the delegation of President Peter Pellegrini. "Archbishop of Bratislava Stanislav Zvolensky, Archbishop of Presov Jonas Maxim, Spis Bishop Frantisek Trstensky, and Ordinary of the Slovak Armed Forces Frantisek Rabek will pay their final respects to the late Pope," said KBS. According to KBS, auxiliary bishop of Nitra Peter Beno, auxiliary bishop of Kosice Marek Forgac, auxiliary bishop of Bratislava Jozef Halko, auxiliary bishop of Spis Jan Kubos and auxiliary bishop of the Bratislava eparchy Milan Lach SJ will also travel for the funeral. KBS Secretary Ivan Ruzicka and members of the KBS General Secretariat will attend the funeral as well. Pope Francis died on Monday (April 21) morning at the age of 88. He had been the head of the Catholic Church since March 2013. The funeral of the Holy Father will take place on St. Peter's Square at the Vatican at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
