Bratislava, April 24 (TASR) - New House chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) will make his first official foreign visit to the Czech Republic on May 7, the MP stated during a meeting with Czech Ambassador to Slovakia Rudolf Jindrak on Thursday. During his official visit, Rasi will meet both of the Czech Parliament's top representatives, namely Chamber of Deputies Speaker Marketa Pekarova Adamova and Senate Chair Milos Vystrcil. He'll also be received in Prague by Czech President Petr Pavel and Premier Petr Fiala. Thursday's meeting between Rasi and Jindrak at the Slovak Parliament highlighted the traditionally strong ties between Slovakia and the Czech Republic, rooted in shared history, cultural similarities and a strategic partnership. Rasi praised the excellent level of inter-parliamentary cooperation, noting an active political dialogue, including this week's visit by a delegation of the Czech Senate's foreign affairs, defence and security committee to Slovakia. "The Czech Republic is Slovakia's closest neighbour, a natural partner and ally across a wide range of issues, regardless of the political composition of either country's parliament or government," stated Rasi. lin/df
