President: Ex-chair of Hungarian Alliance Forro Could Serve as my Advisor

Galanta, April 24 (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini is in discussions with former chair of the Hungarian Alliance Krisztian Forro about the potential appointment of Forro as a presidential advisor on national minority communities, TASR learnt on Thursday.
Seeing as Forro is no longer an active politician, the President believes there should be no obstacle to him taking on this advisory role.
During a Thursday briefing in Galanta (Trnava region), Pellegrini explained that he had already spoken with Forro about this matter back in 2024. “At that time, we agreed not to engage in these talks as long as Krisztian Forro remained an active politician, serving as the leader of a political party, actively involved in political activities," he clarified.
Now, however, the President says the situation has changed. "Krisztian Forro is no longer the chair of a political party and is no longer politically active, so yes, I confirm that the door is open for mutual discussions to conclude whether Krisztian Forro could become the president’s advisor on national minority communities,” Pellegrini added.
Forro ran unsuccessfully in the first round of last year’s presidential election. In the second round, he endorsed Pellegrini, the current president.
