Vranov nad Toplou, April 24 (TASR) - The construction of a roundabout, which will be the first stage of the long-awaited bypass of Vranov nad Toplou in Presov region could start soon, Investments Minister Samuel Migal (Independent) stated following a working meeting with representatives of the municipality and the road administration on Thursday, adding that he has already discussed the project with the Transport Ministry state secretary, who promised to include the bypass among the ministry's priorities. "Vranov nad Toplou very much needs a second entrance and exit from the town because the traffic situation has been complicated for a long time," stressed Migal, noting that funding should be provided from the budgeted resources of the Transport Ministry but support from EU funds is also possible. Mayor Jan Ragan confirmed that in cooperation with Presov self-governing region they have already prepared a project of the northern bypass, which would significantly relieve the traffic especially at the entrance to the town from Presov. "We are at the stage when the land is settled, the design works are processed and the construction procedure can be completed during this year. There is nothing to prevent the construction to be underway by this time next year," added Ragan. The construction of the entire bypass should cost approximately €20 million and will probably be carried out in stages. am
