Velke Kapusany, April 25 (TASR) - A shared services centre, which was opened in the town of Velke Kapusany in Kosice region on Friday, will serve more than ten municipalities from the area of Lower Zemplin, the Interior Ministry's press department has told TASR, adding that the centre was handed over for use by Interior Ministry State Secretary Michal Kalinak and House Chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD). The shared services centre in Velke Kapusany will provide professional services regarding construction, the environment, public procurement and project management to the inhabitants of the town and neighbouring municipalities. "The setting up of the centre will not only lead to the professional consolidation of activities, but also to an increase in the quality and availability of public services for the inhabitants of the area. Thanks to the involvement in the system of shared services, which is financed from EU funds, it's possible to stabilise professional staff and retain qualified workers in public administration," said Velke Kapusany mayor Peter Petrikan. The total amount of funds used for this purpose includes complete reconstruction, technical equipment, facilities for employees and services for citizens amounting to almost €407,000, ex-VAT. "I'm glad that I can be there again, because quality services also belong outside big cities," said Rasi. The Interior Ministry is gradually setting up 21 shared service centres in less-developed areas under a project to modernise local government. am/df
