Bratislava, April 25 (TASR) - More than 400 educational institutions have joined the information system for adult education so far, Education Minister Tomas Drucker (Voice-SD) told a press conference on Friday, adding that next year, the ministry would like to introduce a package of education vouchers.
"We have €12 million over three years to support targeted training programmes for selected types of groups. But we are starting across the board with 5,000 credits," said Drucker, adding that one credit is worth €200. They will be given to the first 5,000 people interested in education. He further explained that they will be used to reimburse courses directly to educational institutions. The ministry wants to start distributing the package from April next year. The information system itself will be made available to the public from the beginning of 2026. According to Drucker, the ministry could later launch other packages aimed at certain shortage professions or groups of people.
Ministry's adult education department head Ildiko Pathoova added that educational institutions can register in the information system during 2025. The state will issue them with a digital certificate. Pathoova also mentioned that the ministry sees career guidance in the choice of further education as important.
